SARCOPHAGUS (2026)
Living Sculpture
Artist & Performer: Constantine Zlatev
Sarcophagus is a living sculpture (performance art) set inside a dark WWII bunker, featuring an actor on an altar inside a Cold War-era anti-radiation suit. The viewer journeys through a ruined tunnel into a small chamber to find the figure lying like a mummy, holding a skull-like protective mask.
Evoking Hamlet’s iconic question, "To be, or not to be," this artwork critiques modern society’s obsession with technological progress and survival at any cost. It asks whether survival holds any value if humanity destroys the surrounding world to achieve it.
